Biography
Queensland-trained ENT, Head & Neck Surgeon
Dr Aaron Griffin is an Australian-born and trained ENT, Head, and Neck Surgeon with a subspecialty fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery. This includes reconstructive (skin cancer), rhinoplasty, and facial cosmetic surgery. Dr Griffin also performs a wide range of routine ENT procedures.
Dr Griffin grew up on the Gold Coast and completed his medical degree at Griffith University. During his studies, he received the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence.
Since 2012, Dr Griffin worked towards surgical training in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (ENT). During this time, Dr Griffin’s special interest in facial skin cancer and reconstruction was kindled. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and presented nationally and internationally, winning the Neville Davis & Frank Szlazi Prize for best research presentation from a training Head and Neck Surgeon in consecutive years.
Dr Griffin has a keen interest in research, having completed a Masters of Philosophy (UQ) and, more recently, is performing research in pre-operative screening and alternative therapies for swelling and bruising following facial cosmetic surgery.
Dr Griffin is a member of the Australian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgeons, the Australian Association of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland. He has a particular interest in facial skin cancer, facial plastic surgery, and rhinoplasty.
